my task as translator
Tower of Babel represents not only the confusion of all languages. For the German critic Walter Benjamin, this tower that reaches the sky also exemplifies the task of the translator: through translation, she touches the sky and reaches "pure language": the abstract intersection of languages and intended meaning.
Most of my work has been in the humanities, especially literary theory, poetry, and philosophy. I have also translated a couple of articles for a law journal and occasionally have been called upon to translate some legal documents.
Translation cost varies according to discipline. Contact me if you are interested in having your document translated from French to English.
